Review of The Faelti by Rachel Pudsey

A guest Review by Derek Borne

Calling All Fantasy Fans!

After finishing the multi-award-winning first book in Rachel’s series, “Watcher of the Night Sky”, I NEEDED to dive into the sequel “The Faelti”. I should probably note that for a while, I was pretty much only into anything Sci-Fi. Rachel’s first book pulled me into the fantasy world just as well as “Wizard of Oz” did for me as a kid.

All right, now to my review.

So I’m an action guy. To me, this book was a little slower than I anticipated. BUT Abigail’s journey is an important part of this series. The intriguing character development of Abigail as she finds out who she is and whittles away at clues of her past will keep you hooked.

Rachel handles having many characters in one scene really well, which isn’t the easiest thing to do as an author and hope it translates well to the reader.

Ultimately, if Fantasy is your go-to, you need to read Miss Pudsey’s series. There’s complex characters, friendship, adventure, and banter that all will enjoy!

About Guest Author Derek Borne:
First things first, he is a great friend of the blog!

We have enjoyed getting to know Derek over the last two years. He has recently been working on a series of short ‘monster files’ (I don’t think this is the correct term, ha!), and was voted as one of the best summer reads of 2019.
